LAVANGUARDIA |
After a promising first half, Barcelona's superiority shone through in the second. Messi opened the scoring with n unstoppable free kick before Alba's challenge on Guidetti in the area gave the opportunity to equalise, with the Swede happy to oblige. Barcelona turned on the style after the break with Rakitic, Neymar and Suarez x3 completing the scoring.
Despite the result, we can count ourselves slightly unfortunate, especially with the scoreline. There's no doubt that with a bit of luck things could have been very different. We had our chances when the game was in the balance and had the referee given Pique a red card for his blatant handball the final result could have went in our favour.
In the end the players that were both suspended and injured played a part in our capabilities but we can be proud of the performance that the team displayed for the first 75 minutes. The midfield of Radoja, Wass and Tucu worked much better than it has in the last few games and defensively we looked pretty solid. The last 15 minutes were difficult for us but we shouldn't forget the effort and pride that the players showed.
Due to our recent poor form, our next game against Eibar is a must win. The previous chasing pack of Sevilla and Athletic have overtaken us and it is vital that we stay within touching distance. More importantly however, we must not be caught by Deportivo.
Best regards and come on Celta!
¡Saludos y Hala Celta!
